“If It’s Friday, This Must Be Fusion” on MOJA Radio

Chick & Herbie 2015

Here on MOJA Radio we believe that MOJA begins with the electrification of jazz in the 1960’s and 1970’s so on Fridays we honor that fact as we present our special feature we call IF IT’S FRIDAY, THIS MUST BE FUSION.

Every Friday beginning at 7 AM until midnight Eastern time we’ll begin each hour with a classic piece of Jazz Fusion history and give you the history about the music and artists about this controversial era in jazz history.

If you remember the Ken Burns “Jazz” series on PBS then you know they pretty much dismissed Fusion as an afterthought and hardly acknowledged its importance. On MOJA Radio we honor that moment when the music became electric, the rhythms changed and all the influences from around the world combined with the original jazz concept to create a new form of jazz that brought millions of new fans to the music.

You’ll hear electric Miles Davis, Return To Forever, Weather Report, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Herbie Hancock, Jeff Beck, George Duke, Jean-Luc Ponty, Frank Zappa and so much more each week on IF IT’S FRIDAY, THIS MUST BE FUSION.
